John Schmalzried brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in home renovation, design, and project management. As the founder and sole owner of Kolina Construction, John personally oversees each job to ensure quality and consistency from start to finish.

His work is informed by real-world knowledge, partnerships with leading vendors, and a commitment to craftsmanship. Whether installing custom motorized blinds, integrating a home automation system, or handling a full-scale home renovation, John delivers results that reflect his high standards and the homeowner’s vision.

When not managing projects, John enjoys golfing and camping with his wife and daughter. The name Kolina Construction was inspired by Ko Olina, Hawaii, where John and his wife were married, and a place that continues to shape their shared vision for quality and balance.
